Bruiser 23/24
About the Bruiser:
YES, this board rides switch! Although this all mountain powder killer features a harshly-cornered tip/tail shape, performance does not lack.
In the design process, Hardway aimed to push the limit of A shape while holding on to as much functionality as possible on hardpack. Considering it's a powder, all-mountain snowboard, it's safe to say we did just that. From the modest set back, to the hardwood stringers - the Bruiser floats and pops just like how you want. The Bruiser also features tri-level dampening, helping to act as suspension for some of the bigger back country and resort hits.
Camber SETBACK MUSTACHE |
Camber in between the feet, rocker in the tip and tail. Center of the Camber is set back 2.5in from board center. |
Flex |
Rating 1-10: This board is right around a 5.0 in the stiffness range. With increased dampening and the absence of carbon, this board will ride a bit softer but will still take the hits when you need it to. |
Shape DIRECTIONAL |
Featuring a 7.2mm side cut radius. The Bruiser has the widest nose in our lineup - coming in at 303mm. This wide nose combined with a tapered tail was specifically designed for laying down heater carves; we're talking armpit hairs dragging on the snow. |
Core |
We use a Poplar/Ash blend for the Bruiser. The Popular is used as filler wood to reduce weight; the Ash is used as stringers for responsiveness from tip to tail as well as insert retention. |
Laminates |
Fiberglass: We use 19oz Triaxial Fiberglass for torsional rigidity and tip to tail even flex. The lightweight of the 19oz assists in keeping the weight of the board relative. Dampening: Three layers of dampening rubber are used to soak up any vibrations from the varieties of chunder you might run into. Our dampening formula also aids in driving your contact points into any condition with authority. |
Base SINTERED |
High-end sintered 4001 base material has proven itself to be one of the fastest and most durable bases on the hill. We lace this sintered base material with the Rockwell hardened 48 edges, a tried-and-true staple in the industry. |
